It is housed in the old building of the Kastraki Primary School, which has been declared a historical monument. It is a two-storey building with a surface area of 230sq.m. per floor and a total surface area of 460sq.m., built on a plot of 854sq.m. in the central square of Kastraki under the sacred rocks of Meteora.<\/p>\n<p>Upon entering the museum, the visitor is &#8220;transported&#8221; 30 million years ago and observes the geographical area of Meteora as a sea area. Then, with a brief presentation of the concepts of tectonic uplift and erosion, the current configuration of Meteora is presented. <\/p>\n<p>The museum has a total of three rooms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Room A (ground floor) is a waiting area, presenting general images of Meteora and audiovisual material. Here visitors can watch a 15-minute video on the creation of Meteora and the nearby Koziaka Mountains. <\/li>\n<li>Room B (ground floor), the introduction to General Geology, tries to convey to the visitor the way the earth, rocks and minerals are created. Fossils, minerals and rocks from all over Greece are displayed here. <\/li>\n<li>Hall C (floor) is the largest single room of the museum.
