This battle marked the first organized act of resistance against the occupying forces. The plan was drawn up by officers who, just a few years earlier, had contributed to the legendary Albanian campaign of 1940. <b>Just three months later,<\/b> on September 11, 1943, in the very same location, history would once again be written.   <\/p>\n<p>The battle of Porta closed the door for the conquerors to climb the mountain and conquer it.
