Hiking trail that starts from the Meteora perimeter road. The route lasts approximately 45′ in total. The route crosses the base of the southern complex of Meteora rocks and connects to other hiking trails. At the base of the Rock of the Holy Spirit, opposite the Monastery of Rousanou, are the so-called “Monks’ Prisons” inside a large cave. The visitor has the opportunity to see up close the formation of the Meteora Conglomerates (Miocene age), the tafoni landforms (elliptical cavities in the rocks), as well as large rock falls at low altitudes which are part of the continuous process of weathering of the Meteora rocks.<\/p>\n
