At the eastern edge of the Geopark, in the Antichasia Mountains, one encounters metamorphic rocks of Proterozoic and Paleozoic age, dating back more than one billion years. The erosion of these ancient formations produced the gravel and sediments that now form the iconic rocks of Meteora.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the village of Fotino, you can find the oldest dated rocks in Greece, aged 1.2 billion years<\/li>\n<li>Around the villages of Gavros and Agios Dimitrios, visitors can explore the Pentalofos\u2013Meteora formation, home to the famous Meteora rocks, and enjoy a large network of hiking trails<\/li>\n<li>At the eastern end of the route, we encounter the artificial Lake Logga, a popular destination for visitors, anglers<\/li>\n<li>nature enthusiasts, and cyclists<\/li>\n<li>A large part of the route follows the Mourgkani (Ionas) River, which merges with the Malakassiotis River to form the Pineios River<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\r\n        <div \r\n
