{"id":7719,"date":"2025-06-30T13:07:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-30T10:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meteorapyligeopark.gr\/events\/gomfoi-trail-on-the-paths-of-our-ancestors\/"},"modified":"2025-06-30T13:07:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-30T10:07:09","slug":"gomfoi-trail-on-the-paths-of-our-ancestors","status":"publish","type":"mec-events","link":"https:\/\/www.meteorapyligeopark.gr\/en\/events\/gomfoi-trail-on-the-paths-of-our-ancestors\/","title":{"rendered":"Gomfoi Trail \u2013 \u201cOn the Paths of Our Ancestors\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">The <strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup> Gomfoi <\/strong><strong>Trail <\/strong>race \u201c<strong>On the Paths of Our Ancestors\u201d is happening on Sunday, October 5th, 2025<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Cultural and Educational Association \u201cOI GOMFOI\u201d, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pyli and under the auspices of the Region of Thessaly \u2013 Regional Unit of Trikala, are co-organizing the 3rd semi-mountainous Gomfoi Trail race, \u201cOn the Paths of Our Ancestors,\u201d on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, in the wider area of the Local Community of Gomfoi, Trikala.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The aim of the event is to highlight the natural beauty, historical and cultural heritage of the ancient civilisation of Gomfoi, to promote volunteerism, and to foster fair play. We invite all our fellow citizens, athletes, and nature enthusiasts to participate in any way in this endeavour. <\/p>\n<p> The event includes two semi-mountainous races and one children\u2019s race.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The routes are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Route \u201cAncient Gomfoi\u201d: distance of 20 km with an elevation gain of +550 m. <\/li>\n<li>Route \u201cPhilip II\u201d: distance of 7 km with an elevation gain of +100 m.<\/li>\n<li>Route \u201cKarpios Dionysos\u201d: 1000 m race for our young friends and athletes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All routes start and finish at the central square of Gomfoi, moving along the foothills of the mountain through trails, forest, and rural roads.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 3rd Gomfoi Trail race \u201cOn the Paths of Our Ancestors\u201d is happening on Sunday, October 5th, 2025!
