ROUTE Kastraki – Monastery of Ipapantis

Hiking trail that starts from Kastraki Square and the Museum of Geological Formations of Meteora. The route lasts approximately 200′ in total. The first section is quite smooth, passing by the Doumbiani rock, following local roads and ending at the Ypapanti Monastery and the Vlachava Monument. Then the visitor can choose to continue north to the chapel of Panagia Kanaliotissa or continue south to the Monastery of Megalo Meteoro. The route ends at the Monastery of Varlaam, and passes by the Monasteries of Anapafsa and Megalo Meteoro. The visitor has the opportunity to see the formation pf the Conglomerate Meteora (Miocene age) up close.
