Following the uphill road above the village of Agia Paraskevi (Tzourtzia) we find on a small plateau that interrupts the steep slope, the chapel dedicated to Agia Marina. The holy church of Agia Marina was erected by the F.A.T.A. “Educational Brotherhood of Tzourtzia Athamania” in 1902 at an altitude of 1450 meters. It is a single-aisled church, in the royal style, with a four-pitched roof, with two entrances, west and south. The building of the church collapsed almost completely by a strong earthquake on May 1, 1967 and the same year it was rebuilt from the foundations as it is today, with some later additions. The flat area around the church is full of tall trees (cherry, beech, oak, elm) that create a wonderful dense shade, while the ground with its green fresh natural covering, adorned with many violet crocuses, offers a wonderful recreation area where pilgrims sit to eat and dance. The chapel of Agia Marina celebrates on July 17.
