The Church of St. George is the oldest church in the village of Tzourtzia (Agia Paraskevi) in Aspropotamos. It was probably built in the 18th century or earlier, and was frescoed in 1790. Later, the stone bell tower was added to the church’s enclosure. It is located at the western exit of the village, and from this location, routes and paths to the waterfall of Mantani of the Demon and other locations begin. The church and this part of the village have been built on loose deposits of river terraces and slope deposits, which is why protection measures have been placed on the river slopes for erosion and support.
