In Kato Palaiokarya, next to the Gropa stream, is the watermill and dristella of Paleokarya. From 1853 to the present day, the watermill has been used for grinding grain and various traditional products. The Gropa stream supplies the watermill with water almost all year round. The watermill uses the energy of water to move the mill that grinds the products. At the same time, water is also channeled into the dristela for the natural washing of carpets, textiles, bed linen and clothes through the pressure and rotation of the water. The word dristella (or mandani) is used in its various variations for the various natural and artificial watermills where washing takes place.
