The KOZIAKAS TRAIL organization announces that the race is now officially listed on the ITRA (International Trail Running Association) platform.

At the same time, the organization would like to provide an important clarification regarding the total elevation gain shown on the ITRA page.
According to ITRA, the race elevation gain is listed as 1,557 meters, based on the system used (TRACE DE TRAIL). However, the organization submitted two (2) separate objections, which were ultimately not accepted.
The organization’s own measurements were carried out using four (4) different GPS devices, including three (3) GPS watches (Garmin, Suunto) and one Garmin GPSMAP 64s, showing an elevation gain ranging from 1,660 to 1,710 meters.
After analyzing the route data and GPS track details, the organization believes that the ITRA calculation may not fully reflect the unique terrain of the area, which includes many small ascents and descents that may be overlooked in the total elevation gain estimation.
For this reason, the organization has decided to keep the official elevation gain at 1,700 meters, as originally announced from the beginning.
Finally, the organization states that both their objections and the official response from ITRA are available upon request for anyone interested.
