On the Kalambaka – Deskati road, 300 meters after the intersection for the village of Psiloma, we come across the stone bridge of Psira. It is a double-arched bridge that spans the Ionas (Mourganis) River, a tributary of the Pinios River, built in 1790. It is made of stone, made of sandstone rocks of the area (Molassian Gully deposits). It has a total length of 31 meters, while the span of the arches is 12.5 and 3.2 meters. It was formerly one of the points of connection of Epirus and Thessaly with Macedonia. Caravans from the Balkans to central and southern Greece used to pass through this bridge. The bridge was repaired in the years 2009 – 2010 by the prefecture.
