At the lowest point of Ropoto in the area of Agios Ioannis, is the watermill and dristela of Ropoto. The watermill is used for grinding grain and various traditional products. The waters that descend from the slopes of Karava mountain above Ropoto supply the watermill with water almost all year round. The watermill uses the energy of the water to move the mill that grinds the products. At the same time, the water is also channeled into the dristela for the natural washing of carpets, textiles, bed linen and clothes through the pressure and rotation of the water. The word dristela (or mandani) is used in its various variations for the various natural and artificial watermills.
