The Lake is located approximately 600 meters after the village of Agios Bessarion in the direction of Fylira. It has a maximum width of 150 meters and a maximum depth of 10 meters. The Agios Vissarion reservoir was created for irrigation purposes in 2008. The dam and the basin of the reservoir were constructed in ophiolite rocks (basically igneous rocks and clay shales) which ensure very low permeability, ideal for dam construction. Today, a small natural paradise has been created where the gentle landscape combined with the coolness of the lake, the swans, the wild ducks and the fish that come out to the banks is a pole of attraction for visitors.
