The monastery is located one kilometer north of Kleinovo, in a fir forest. It celebrates on June 29, the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul. By Royal Decree of 1886 it was united with the other monastery of Kleinovo, the monastery of Chryssinos.

The construction of the monastery is estimated to date back to the mid-18th century. Today, the complex lies in ruins, with only the katholikon (the main church) remaining intact. Of the other structures—monastic cells, the mansion, kitchens, and storerooms—which survived until approximately 1970, only scattered piles of stones remain today.

It is an Athonite-style church, cruciform in plan, with lateral choirs and a double-domed narthex to the west. The Virgin Mary of the altarpiece is the work of the Samaritan Michael Anagnostos of Demetrios, 1821. The katholikon, the only church, is recorded by well-preserved frescoes, which were made by the same hagiographer of the portable icons (Michael Anagnostos of Demetrios).

The inscription found in the vestibule of the arched entrance door to the church is a trilingual saying of Saint Zosimas in ancient Greek, modern Greek and Aromanian (Vlach).
