Every year at the end of June, the Panhellenic Gathering of Sarakatsani Associations takes place, usually lasting three days. The event includes a Youth Festival, football tournaments, the re-enactment of the traditional seasonal migration between the mountains and the plains, traditional games, and folk dances.
On the final day, the largest number of participants gathers to watch a thematic cultural performance, which changes each year. The celebration concludes with the “Tranos Horos” (Great Dance), where everyone is invited to join in a powerful display of unity and heritage.
