The impressive rock formations of Meteora are not limited to the well-known areas of Kalampaka and Kastraki, but also extend north of Kalampaka into a wider region of Chasia, encompassing villages such as Agios Dimitrios and Gavros. This lesser-known area is crossed by a dense network of hiking trails, offering unique opportunities to explore what is often referred to as the “hidden Meteora.” Along the rocks of Agios Dimitrios and Gavros, visitors can walk through breathtaking landscapes, discover old monasteries and chapels, and in Gavros, enjoy organized rock climbing sites ideal for adventure seekers.
