Corn Festival

At the end of July, the Women’s Association “To Dousiko”, in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Municipality, organizes the annual Corn Festival in the village of Agios Vissarionas.

Each year, the festival revives the tradition of corn harvesting and preparation, helping younger generations appreciate this agricultural treasure that sustained many families during difficult times in Greece’s history.
Visitors enjoy grilled corn on the cob, boiled corn, and the beloved traditional “bobota”—a rustic cornbread made from pure cornmeal (katsamaki), prepared with care and authenticity.
