At a distance of 43 km from Kalambaka is the village of Panagia or Nea Koutsoufliani, where the historic monastery of Limpohovo, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, is located.
The monastery is mentioned in 1336 in a decree of Emperor Andronikos III. The old monastery was built in a square form around the current old church.
Of this monastery, which was burnt down during the German occupation, the katholikon (conventual church), a one-room, arched-roofed church inscribed inside with an interesting iconographic programme, survives today. In the katholikon there is a stone inscribed with the date 1709. The carved wooden altarpiece dates to the 18th century. Monastery was partially renovated in 2008 and a new restoration program started in 2022.
